A mentor who I’ve never met who continues to read my mind (thanks Seth) challenged this terminology recently.
Persistence can be lacking in variation and foundation and is often compared to a terrier that just won’t let go.
Tenacity on the other hand recognising the battle, and it’s about finding new and robust data to continue the discussion, after the initial “no” has been delivered.
My pledge now is to be tenacious….looking for new angles, new data, new expressions to talk with my prospects about their issues and opportunities and ensure that my discussions are valued and thoughtful.
