In that interview, your compassion will surround the commercial imperatives that your new valued team member has to deliver…yes, there are opportunities for extenuating circumstances but they will be clearly understood.
Am I being mean, I think not…it is in the interview stage that we lay down the expectations of the remuneration relationship…..
“We think you will fit right in here and we expect you to do this each week, or each month or each quarter. We will help….we’ll develop skills and we will help you grow those numbers.
If there are difficulties in achieving these expectations, then we need to work out how they can be delivered.”
Lead with compassion not compromise…… structure it early, along with your expectations and their deliverables, and it creates a more stable and engaged team…… you can work two and a half days per week as long as you deliver the 10 new clients with $50,000 new business each month as discussed…… or……!
