We have an extraordinary economy…….One of the best performing economies in the world.

We have around 5 – 5.5% unemployment, yes youth unemployment is higher, around 20% but a little better than Greece at 65%….only 1 in 3 of their under 25’s have a job.

We’ve just given thanks, through Anzac Day, for our past and present and fallen service men and women.

Our politicians on occasion give adequate support to the education of our next generation, to the health of our older generations and their support….we have an information super highway at our finger tips (we will wait until we get the details of how long our fingertips need to be if the Liberals get in)….then I guess we get to the question of defining “giving thanks”.

In business it’s about taking a position of preparedness and planning…..it’s not about survival!

For me giving thanks is about improving this extraordinary economy for the next generation…we need to drive our small, independent, inconsequential businesses forward…the government can sometimes assist. The banks will sometimes assist.

But the “thankfulness” comes from us.
